ARF Kitties and Puppies at the Museum Every Month!!

Watch for dates and times here!

ARFlings!!
ARF Angels come in all shapes, sizes AND AGES! ARFlings in the community (kids under 18) find their own unique and heartfelt ways to help the rescued dogs and cats. Check out the wonderful work done by these ARFling heroes!

So my wonderful and generous neighbours put on a fund raiser in honor of ARF yesterday and what a success it was!! Emily and Ben spent all week preparing a haunted house, pie in the face contest, obstacle course, taro card readings, water gun shooting range, and a water balloon toss. It was a nickel for admission and each game cost three cents to play, they had about 25 to 30 people come during the event and managed to raise $52.70. Super job Emily and Ben!!!

Jenna loves animals so decided instead of raising money for herself at their street yard sale, she held a bake sale for ARF! She raised $42 by selling delicious cupcakes. The yard sale was on a day when her family had members in a hockey tournament, soccer tournament and cheerleading tryouts! This dedication to helping animals so impressed an ARF foster home that the puppy Jenna is holding has been named after her. Great work, Jenna!!

The students at the Western Call Centre (who contact alum to raise money for scholarships) decided to raise money for ARF this spring during their annual community outreach efforts. During this effort they collect change from the students in order to raise money for a local cause.

Many thanks to these community minded students and the University of Western Ontario's program
manager, Beth Noble for coordinating.

April 26th 2010 was a fun day for two ARF volunteers and ARF puppy JUNIOR because they were invited to visit Victoria Public School in London, Ontario. The students at Victoria School had collected much needed wishlist items like towels, toys, food, and puppy peepee pads! Teachers Mrs. Elgie and Mrs.Reeves asked their classes to help carry everything out to the ARF volunteer’s vehicle and they filled the back cargo space!

Thank-you to all of the Victoria School families that participated in gathering items to help ARF save more animals!

Email received from a future ARF volunteer!

Hello,
I Am Rebecca. I Am Only Ten Years Old and I Love Animals. I Would Do Anything for Them.

Most People Are So Cruel To Animals But Me I Would Not Do Anything to Hurt Animals.

I Really Admire What You All Do and I Just Wanted To Let You Know How Passionate I am About Animals
And I Hope That Everyone Loves Animals To.

Sincerely
Rebecca

Mackenzie, Rachel and Karli, students at St. George's, came up with the idea of holding a bake sale to raise money and awareness for ARF. Cupcakes, cookies, muffins and other goodies helped to bring in $98.04.

Thanks so much ladies!!

ARF Kibble & Bone Drop

I was once again very impressed with a young ARF volunteer. Ashley McGuffin came out today with her mom, Cheryl, and handed out bones and kibble to lots of very hungry puppies.

The dogs definitely liked Ashley, especially Unicorn!

There were a few more stops as well where we didn't get photos. Well done, young Arfling Ashley! Next time I need help wrangling a shy pup I know who to call!

Thanks for all your help!
Kara, ARF Intake Team

Dear ARF Angels,

I just had a birthday and instead of presents, I asked my friends if they wanted to donate money to help the animals. My Mom and I looked at a couple of websites and we liked your group best. We love to look at all the pictures and read the stories.

Here is a picture of me and my animal-loving friends: I’m Iris (the tallest one in the back) and beside me is Molly. In the front is Claire, on the left, and then twins Emma and Mackenzie.

Thank you for all the great work you do. We really hope that we’ve helped make an animal’s life a little better and your job a little easier.

Sincerely,
Iris Fletcher

January 2010:

What a great start to the New Year it was when eight year old Jordan delivered the pennies rolled for the rescued dogs and cats. He'd collected them all last year and rolled: 2800 pennies! When Jordan dropped his very heavy bag of penny rolls off he said:

"I thought you could buy some really nice dogfood with this money I collected for the dogs. And you can keep the bag too."

Thank you to our friends at International Name Plate Supplies!

The great people at INPS donated some awesome bumper stickers to help spread the word that
"Rescue Pets Rock!"
They'll be available at our events, so if you'd like one, come on out, meet some great puppies
and pick up a sticker to proudly display on your vehicle!
All the funds raised go to helping our rescued friends.
